Highlights of Accomplishments

HFA fencers’ list of medals and accomplishments are extensive. Here are a few highlights:

• HFA fencers are nationally ranked and recognized as some of the best fencers in the country.
• HFA fencers have gone on to be awarded fencing scholarships and admission to prestigious universities including:
  • Cornell
  • Harvard
  • Northwestern
  • Notre Dame
  • Ohio State
  • Princeton
  • Stanford
  • U Penn
  • Yale
• HFA students who fence at these schools continue to come back and fence with their HFA teammates.
• HFA fencers have medaled at National events over 20 times. (Best record of results of all fencing organizations in the Midwest!)
• HFA fencers consistently rank in the top 16 and top 32 places at these events.
• HFA fencers have been selected by U.S. Fencing Association to represent the U.S. at World Cups over 15 times in the past 5 years. This means that HFA fencers have taken over 15 different trips spanning countries such as Austria, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, France, Slovakia, Croatia and Bulgaria. HFA fencers have achieved top 16 and top 32 finishes at these international events!
• HFA fencers have received over 200 medals at youth and open tournaments in local and surrounding states (To see results by club visit www.askfred.net then select “Results” and search by club name). This is more than any other club in this region, and also does not include top 16 and top 32 results! Only the top eight receive medals in each event.
• HFA’s competitive team is the largest on the region and has outperformed other clubs both in results and growth.
